Friday Fun - Trail Happy

IMG_2971.jpg

This one’s short and sweet - while visiting family last week, I had a great time running the trails in Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, my San Diego happy place. As I have more than one happy place, I now add a location qualifier :)

Click the LINK HERE for a related central coast happy place post in Morro Bay. It appears my happy places tend to be outdoors where there are trails, rocks and water.

Los Peñasquitos Preserve was literally my backyard for 20+ years. Whereas most visitors start close to Black Mountain Road on the east or off Sorrento Valley Road in the west, when I lived here we had many canyon access points along Park Village road allowing us a head start (shorter distance) to the waterfall.

For past marathon training, the trails allowed visual variety during those longer runs.

I was happy to feel light on my feet once again in San Diego, in comparison to my present Pasadena area runs. The 10 - 15 degree cooler temperatures makes a huge difference!

A friend asked if I had a chance to run the suspension bridge at Wagon Wheel Crossing. It’s new since my time there and will be on my radar the next chance I get!
