Cool Weather and Rain Days in Pasadena

Finally it feels like winter in Pasadena! We’ve had a mix of rain days followed by cool weather and clear skies. The blue skies make a great background for photo taking. The rain days are chances to catch up on reading, writing and cooking.

For many of my Pasadena runs, I make a decision to either run north or south of the 134 freeway. If I choose to run south along the arroyo, I pass by the San Pasqual Stables and cross over to Garvanza/Highland Park. If I choose to run north, I can cross over the arroyo by way of the Colorado Bridge or other times, I descend downward into the arroyo and cross under the 134 freeway. The images above show the unexpected natural beauty beneatth the concrete arch bridges.

Often I jog the Brookside Park trails that are adjacent to the Rosebowl and the Rosebowl Aquatic Center. The images above show the expansive views from the top of the trail north towards the San Gabriel mountains and south towards the Holly Street Bridge.

Kidspace Museum is located next to the Rosebowl. I can peek through the fencing as I run by the outdoor playspaces. Though closed during the pandemic, the container planting out front offers a splash of color to area visitors.
