Film Locations - Man on the Inside

I love when I recognize a film location house that’s in LA but is supposed to be in another city like these two midcentury homes in the Netflix series Man on the Inside.

The series takes place in San Francisco and the two homes I recognized are located in Eagle Rock, CA which is adjacent to Pasadena where I live.

5287 Townsend Ave.

This midcentury Eagle Rock house, built in 1950, has been used for filming before. I read that it was Marc Maron's house on Netflix's GLOW and has been used in other films and commercials.

In Season 2, episode 8 of Man on the Inside, it is used for Dr. Cole’s house. Ted Danson’s character Charles is about to enter the house in the tv screen image above.

5325 Hermosa Avenue

The Norcross Residence is perched on a hillside in Eagle Rock, north of downtown Los Angeles. Built in 1960, the single-story home was designed by architect Bruce Warren Norcross as his personal residence.

The photos above were taken in 2021. Some images from my tv screen while watching the Season 1 in 2024 are shown below. This is Ted Danson’s character Charles’ house in the series. You can see him at the top of the stairway.
