A Trio of Spiritual Places

Happened to be in the Wilshire/Korea Town part of LA to meet a friend for lunch and thought I’d stop by the mid-century Founder’s Church of Religious Science designed by Paul R. Williams before our meetup. After lunch I had time to stop by two other spiritual places on the way home. It was a good day!

Museum Monday - Hammer Museum

Joan Didion: What She Means is on exhibit at the Hammer Museum in Westwood through Feb. 19, 2023. I highly recommend a visit for fans of Ms. Didion’s work. For those unfamiliar, the exhibit offers a great introduction.

Museum Monday - LACMA

It has been too long since my last visit to LACMA. So I was excited for my return visit to view Scandinavian Design and the United States, 1890–1980 which runs through Feb. 5, 2023.

Architecture Field Trip - Altadena

This Altadena field trip is a fun one filled with mid-century and modernist gems - a library, a couple of modernist homes, including a case study house, a progressive neighborhood and some roadside church architecture to round it out.
