I love exploring college campuses and UH-Manoa is special to me since it’s right around the corner from where I grew up. Though I didn’t attend college at UH, all my siblings did. I wonder if they noticed the great public art there. Here is a sampling.

Hawaii Architecture - 3 in Chinatown

I had time for a short architecture photo session before heading to a movie screening near Chinatown in Honolulu. I call these half hour photo shoots “architecture snacks”.

Hawaii Architecture - Along Ala Moana Blvd

On the latest visit, I spent a couple mornings in the area around Ala Moana Beach Park. My eclectic finds: a high rise by Minoru Yamasaki, art deco details at the beach park, and a new pedestrian bridge and park in Ward Village.

Mid-Year 2025 Travel Review

Thought I’d change things up and do a mid-year travel review. Sometimes the end of year sneaks up and a larger year end review gets missed. In the first half of 2025 we visited Hawaii (twice), the Bay Area CA, Austin TX, and went on some local SoCal trips.
