Heading to the Annual Fall Marathon

Missing in action on the blog for a bit, but back in action as I head to Toronto for Marathon #17.

Excited to be traveling with my support team as there was a traumatic fall and subsequent shoulder injury in August that I’m still recovering from. It’ll be nice to have someone help with the luggage on the plane and company for the celebratory dinner :)

In exchange, I’m happy to play tour guide.

Back to that injury…It seems running and tripping is dangerous for someone who doesn’t fall properly. Though x-ray showed no breaks, my shoulder froze and did not thaw till 2 weeks after. Anyhow, long story short, my massage therapist gave me some tough love and told me to stop babying it. Through a combination of regular sports massage and hot yoga, I am slowly regaining shoulder mobility, though I do need to work on strength.

Race weather looks to be warmer than last year, high 40s to high 50s (shorts weather!), though still much cooler than California training weather. Excited to experience Toronto again!
