Mid-Year 2026 Travel Review
It’s been a busy first half of 2026 travel year with trips to Hawaii in January, April and June, shorts stays in Ojai, Las Vegas, Laguna Beach and San Diego, and a 15-day Panama cruise in May.
Breeze Block Walks - Honolulu
The last trip to Hawaii was relatively short so I had just one architecture/art outing on the wishlist which was to view the breeze block exhibit at the Honolulu Museum of Art. Alas, that outing did not come to be and I contented myself mainly with short walks in dad’s neighborhood.
You could say that I curated my own breeze block exhibit!
Museums - Murals of La Jolla
Sometimes the best place to spot art is not within the walls of a conventional museum but outdoors. This post contains a sampling of murals from my most recent art walks in La Jolla.
Staycation - Laguna Beach
Lately I’ve taken to the idea of planning annual staycations whether with my kids or solo. This year we hung out in Laguna Beach.
A Couple Days in Miami
We spent a couple days in Miami before departing on a Panama Canal cruise, Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. A first time Miami visit for me, two nights was not nearly enough!
Panama Cruise Ports of Call
We recently returned from a 15-day cruise that included ports of call in Cartegena, Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.
Hawaii June Highlights
June’s Hawaii trip was short and sweet, yet every day I had a pocket of time to explore in a small radius around dad’s home. Some art and architecture highlights are captured here in this post.
