In Bloom - Matilija Poppies

Spring is in the air and one of my favorites is blooming - the Matilija poppy, also referred to as the “fried egg” poppy. This native plant to California and Baja always catches my eye and makes me smile.

The View from Pasadena

Just a few weeks in my new city, sheltering in the apartment except for grocery trips and regular neighborhood walks or runs. Fortunate to be in a walkable city with tree-lined streets and access to natural open space. Though I would love to be free to explore the wider region, Pasadena is a great home base.
